Author Guidelines
International Journal of Agriculture, Food and Innovation – MIYR (IJAFI-MIYR)
1. Article Types
The journal accepts the following types of submissions:
- Original Articles (Full Research Papers)
- Review Articles
- Case Studies
- Short Communications
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.
2. Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English and include the following sections:
- Title
- Author(s) information (name, affiliation, email)
- Abstract (150–250 words)
- Keywords (4–6 terms)
- Main text:
- Introduction
- Materials and Methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- References
The Results and Discussion sections may be presented separately or combined, depending on the nature of the study.
Length
- Original Articles: 4,000–8,000 words (excluding references)
Double-Blind Submission
To ensure an unbiased review process:
- Remove all identifying information (names, affiliations, acknowledgements, funding statements, and self-identifying references) from the manuscript file.
- Author information must be entered only in the OJS submission metadata.
- Document properties (e.g., Microsoft Word metadata) should also be anonymized.
3. Formatting Requirements
- Font: Times New Roman, 11 pt
- Line Spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm)
- File Format: Microsoft Word (.docx)
- References: APA 7th Edition (DOIs should be included where available)
4. Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS).
Submission Website
Authors are required to register before submitting a manuscript.
A submission acknowledgment will normally be sent within three (3) business days.
5. Peer Review Policy
All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review conducted by the Editorial Board and at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript.
Estimated Review Timeline
- Initial editorial screening
- External peer review (approximately 4 weeks)
- Revision (if required)
- Final editorial decision
The average processing time from submission to the final editorial decision is approximately 7–8 weeks.
The final publication decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief. Manuscripts submitted by the Editor-in-Chief or Editorial Board members are handled by another qualified editor to avoid conflicts of interest.
Review Criteria
Manuscripts are evaluated based on:
- Originality and scientific contribution
- Relevance to the journal's aims and scope
- Scientific significance and practical value
- Research methodology and experimental design
- Quality of data analysis and interpretation
- Contribution to agriculture, food science, sustainability, innovation, or related disciplines
- Ethical compliance and appropriate citation of previous research
- Clarity, organization, and quality of academic writing
6. Publication Ethics
The journal follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices.
Authors must ensure:
- Originality of submitted work;
- Proper citation and acknowledgment of all sources;
- No simultaneous submission to another journal.
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or equivalent tools.
Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 15% may be returned for revision or rejected, depending on the nature and extent of the overlap.
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools is permitted only for language editing, grammar correction, formatting, or data analysis. AI tools must not generate original research findings or be listed as authors. Any use of AI must be disclosed at the time of submission.

Fee waivers or discounts may be granted under exceptional circumstances.
Payment of any fee does not influence editorial decisions or guarantee acceptance.
8. Open Access and Copyright
Open Access
All published articles are freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication.
Copyright
Authors retain full copyright of their published work.
License
All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
Authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, archive, and preserve the article while retaining copyright ownership.
9. DOI and Discoverability
All published articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref to ensure persistent identification and citation.
The journal is committed to maximizing the visibility and discoverability of published research by maintaining high-quality metadata and applying for inclusion in appropriate abstracting and indexing services.
